San Francisco

There's a reason hundreds of songs have been written about San Francisco. It really is an incredible city with a unique charm and beauty unlike any I'd ever experienced. I spent last Saturday there with my Dad, my two older brothers Karl & Kevin, and my sister April and her husband Lee plus my two nieces Zoe and Katelyn. We had a tight schedule due to wedding festivities, so we weren't able to do any tours or head to Alcatraz, but I think we managed to have a pretty good day anyway.

Foggy & chilly, but lovable!
It's OK Katelyn, shellfish freak me out too...

We just happened to be in town during Gay Pride Weekend, which I thought was pretty exciting. Although I must say I was disappointed that we didn't run into any drag queens. We saw lots of rainbow flags and a few couples here and there, but somehow must have missed the areas where all the action was taking place.
hooray for fabulous equality!
I had to explain the rainbow flags to Dad...

We enjoyed an early morning stroll along Pier 39 where I was completely bewildered by the June weather in the Bay (low of 48 degrees thankyouverymuch). The overcast skies soon cleared and we ended up with gorgeous views and tons of pictures.

Fell instantly in love.
Fan of the flowers...
I want a boat...

I managed to break my shoe and had to stop and buy a pair of $6 flip flops. Note to self: when touring San Francisco, wear sneakers. And for the love of God, bring a sweatshirt!!!

We had brunch at the Eagle Cafe, which had great views and spectacular looking food, but I have to be honest...my blueberry pancakes were kind of bland. Pretty disappointing considering how phenomenal they looked!
A+ presentation. D- taste.
Almost too pretty to eat.
Katelyn's chocolate chip pancakes were pretty yummy, though...

All in all we had a wonderful whirlwind day spent in San Francisco. We even managed to get some foggy Golden Gate Bridge photos at Crissy Field!

Couldn't come to San Fran and not wear a flower in my hair
Now you see it now you don't..
Wish my dogs were here to play
Not depicted this way on Full House.
